With decades of experience Deana Samms ensures that every person who sits down in her office gets to be heard and has the chance to experience hope and healing.

Since Deana was a young woman, she was the person that people went to for comfort and help in times of crisis and grief. Before long, the desire to counsel led her to an additional degree and licensure. Years later, Deana has thousands of hours of experience and more stories of healing and hope than she can count. Her new office opened in 2020 to increase her availability to clients.

Sometimes life can be overwhelming. When you think there is no hope and your faith has worn thin, let me lend you mine. I want to be there to help you through stressful times.

I respect diverse faiths and values offering individual, marriage, and family therapy for anyone, and I provide Christian therapy to those who want to incorporate a Biblical worldview. I love empowering individuals to work through life’s difficulties and change negative thinking and behaviors. I like connecting with couples and families to repair relationships and restore harmony. I enjoy teenagers who need to learn coping and life skills and parents who need coaching. I also see clients who are working to free themselves from the bondage of substance and behavioral addictions.

I’ve been married 40 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren. I received my Master’s in Professional Counseling in 2002, and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of West Virginia since 2009, but I have been a counselor since I can remember.

One of my greatest pleasures is helping people heal from hurts, fears, grief, and pain to live rewarding and meaningful lives. I want to help you restore and improve your relationships.
